The Mission
The District is a non-profit volunteer driven organization devoted to growth, preservation, and economic vitality of downtown, creating a sense of place in The Heart of Quincy, Illinois.
The Vision
The District envisions an attractive, vibrant, historic downtown that will serve as The Heart of Quincy and encourage pride, diversity, engagement and economic growth with unique living and social experiences.
The Locality
Geographically, The District stretches from Broadway to State and from Front to 12th Street.
The Non-Profit Organization
As a non-profit organization, The District works to support businesses within its geographical location, while also creating events and programs that not only engage the local community but also attract visitors and tourists. Through these efforts, it aims to enhance the overall experience for both residents and visitors, encouraging them to explore, shop, and participate in all that The District has to offer.
Today, The District is the premier destination for dining, entertainment and shopping. The District joined the Illinois Main Street Program which supports communities that are working to bring prosperity to their older and historic downtowns and commercial districts. The organization also hosts public community events such as Blues in the District, Community Feast, Light the Park, Trick or Treat in The District, The Quincy Farmers Market and so much more.
